There are 7 billion people on the planet, and in only 27 years I have somehow been lucky enough to find Martin Cohen. He has not made my life better, he has drastically altered the course of it. I first worked with Martin in 1982 and have never stopped. I credit Martin for so many breakthroughs I have had in my career, my finances, my marriage, my relationship to my daughter, my family, but the most important tool that Martin has taught me is the concept of completion.
Any time there is a dangling issue that gnaws away at me, I think of Martin asking me what I need to complete about that. Through working with him, he has coached me to source the right words, see the right actions or simply had me look at a situation in such a new way which broke the negative cycle that would cause me so much suffering.
I feel so utterly safe with Martin, for even if he’s busting my chops for not seeing clearly, he comes from the deepest love of knowing what it means to be human. Simply said, Martin has helped me deal with the present reality, accept what is, and has taught me to live my life from choice…..a powerful place to be.
We say the emmice (the Yiddish terminology for truth) of a relationship is the willingness to share our essence with each other. After 30 years of living and breathing together, we both thought that by understanding and examining our relationship to our life together would be complete. One session with Martin certainly changed that thought. He asked us to describe our essence in two words. Imagine summing up all these years of self-introspection in two words! We realized the power in this immediately. This was the beginning point in our relationship with Martin, which has allowed our marriage now to wildly flourish. The next twenty years as life partners can only be spectacular because of the immense input we gained from our relationship with Martin Cohen.
The value I got out of being in Martin Cohen’s program ‘Transformation through Communication’ is incalculable. He has clearly revealed patterns and habits that until now were hidden, and if slightly known, misunderstood. Having an idea of these subconscious blocks, I still was not certain how to change or transform them without learning his tools. With these revealing tools, I now have a much greater sense of empowerment and belief in my abilities. This has allowed me to grow and evolve, and become a highly effective individual who is able to be of much greater service in the future.
It is hard to express in words the vast change that has occurred these past few months–change that has dramatically impacted my life and the lives of my children. I am in awe when I think what life was like just this past June, and what it is like now. From the successful negotiations for a mutually beneficial settlement with my ex (who was my “adversary” in court) to the exponential leap of leadership at work and love in my home, I could not and would not have done it without Martin. Here’s to the inconceivable and impossible yet to come!
Martin has ventured into something about love and relationships that in my life, seemed far too complicated to understand. In working with him, I discovered this most difficult of human (mis)adventures. Martin’s ability to reflect my emotions, hesitations, and fear of commitment was uncannily accurate. In his passionate coaching, I have gained a profound understanding of myself. I am excited by his novel approach of gender balancing. I look forward to exploring what is waiting for me as I go through my transformation in closing the gap. Martin Cohen is at the very forefront of that positive voice in my mind when making choices, especially around men.
